The following is a listing of all stallions actively standing in the United States and Canada currently registered with and approved by the North American Shagya-Arabian Society (NASS). The owners of the stallions listed are "active members" in "good standing" of the North American Shagya-Arabian Society.

Excerpts from Breeding Guidelines :

All approved stallion owners must be members in good standing of NASS at the time of conception and at the time of registration of any of their stallion's foals.

If the stallion is approved for breeding by NASS, the stallion owner is required to follow the same regulations as owners of NASS registered stallions, i.e. maintain annual membership in NASS in order for foals to be registered, and to submit an annual stallion report. (have DNA on file)

Owners of "NASS Approved for Breeding Stallions" are welcome to send NASS photos of their Stallions, both active and inactive, in order that they be posted to the Stallion Lists on the NASS website providing your NASS Membership is current. Inactive Stallion Owners were active members at time of retirement. Send photos to the NASS Breeding Committee Chair.

IMPORTANT STALLION OWNERS:

NASS registered horses that have been castrated or a death has occurred, the NASS Registrar must be informed by the Owner of Record with a written statement for accuracy of the documented event. This can be accomplished by sending in the original horse registration certificate with the event date written in by the Owner of Record and signed on the back of the original registration certificate then mailed certified/return receipt to the NASS Registrar. The NASS Registrar will record the event from the registration certificate; sign the registration certificate prior to returning the original registration certificate back to the Owner of Record. This can also be accomplished by sending a copy of the back page of the original registration certificate signed and event date recorded in the appropriate box. NASS Registrar will sign and make a copy to send back to the Owner of Record.

PLEASE NOTE: If the stallion was used for breeding prior to castration of death please complete a STALLION YEAR END REPORT by the end of the calendar year so foals may be registered with the North American Shagya Arabian Society (NASS). Contact the NASS Registrar if you have questions.

INACTIVE APPROVED STALLIONS
Approved Stallions - whose owners ARE NOT NASS Members in "good standing" as required by the NASS Registry
are listed below.

Offspring of Stallions whose owners are not NASS Members in "good standing" with the Registry are not eligible for registration with NASS until such time as the Registry Requirements are met.

Any Stallion owner who would like to reactivate their Stallion to "Active Status", or any mare owner looking for information regarding the registration eligibility of foals from these Stallions should contact the NASS Breeding Committee Chair or your Regional Director for more information.

PLEASE NOTE:

"Each owner of offspring of a stallion whose owner is not a NASS member in good standing during the year of registration and/or during the year of conception may register those offspring by paying a "stallion activation surcharge", provided that all the other registration requirements in the Guidelines are fulfilled. This surcharge will be in the amount of the active membership fee which the stallion owner did not pay during the year of conception and/or the year of registration. By payment of the stallion activation fee each owner may register any number of foals that were conceived and/or registered during the year and/or years in question."
